Corrective Treatment

Putting crowded or crooked teeth in line

Traditional metal orthodontic braces and retainers are commonly worn for a period of years to pull and push crooked teeth into the correct position – usually applied to children and teenagers, but increasingly becoming requested by adults.

A modern alternative to traditional braces are removable clear, transparent thin plastic trays, custom made to be worn over the teeth to straighten them – not totally invisible to the trained eye but difficult to spot and more aesthetic than the traditional metalwork, commonly known as Invisalign® treatment.

Queen Square Dental Practice collaborates with other local practices to refer patients requiring orthodontic services and Invisalign® treatment for patients of all ages. We can therefore assist patients who consult us for issues such as:

Dental Implants

Assessment & specialist referrals

If you have a missing tooth (or teeth) it may be possible to fill the gaps with implants – high quality false teeth that are rooted into the jawbone with titanium screws.

Although we don’t carry out this procedure at our clinic at this time, we welcome enquiries about implants. We collaborate with implantologists, implant practitioners and clinics in the local area to whom we can refer our patients and monitor their treatment.

Our general dental practitioners are able to take X-rays and make an assessment of your needs for implants or any sort of restorative dentistry, and explain what’s involved in the treatment, before referring you to specialists where appropriate for any service that we don’t offer at our clinic.

If your need is urgent, we will do our best to obtain your referral as a priority.

Dental Sedation

Assistance for anxious dental patients

Dental sedation is a safe and effective way to help patients relax during dental treatment, particularly for those with anxiety or phobias, or those undergoing complex procedures. It allows patients to be conscious and responsive while feeling deeply relaxed and less aware of the treatment.

Various dental sedation techniques are available, including inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide), oral sedation (tablets or liquid), and intravenous (IV) sedation administered into your hand or arm.

If you feel you need to have sedation to undergo any dental procedure please request this before your appointment, and we will arrange to evaluate your suitability for appropriate sedation.

We will carefully assess your individual needs and medical history and ask about any medications or supplements you may be taking. Once we have gathered all the necessary information, we’ll make sedation recommendations or referrals based on your specific needs.
